Healthy Eating

The key to eating a healthy diet and being full of energy, is to base your diet on vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds, some meat, little starch and no processed sugar.

It sounds simple right? Well it is! Eating as close to “source” as possible is the key. The less you process, heat or alter a food, the more nutritious it is for you.

Water is also a key element in a diet. Our body works hard to digest, process, absorb and eliminate the food we eat. Drinking enough water is paramount in providing our bodies with the right environment to aid the basic functions of the body.

The key is to implement the five P’s:

Preparation & Planning Promotes Perfect Performance

When it comes to living to your highest potential exercise is a key factor and in order for you to function well it is important for you to establish a nutrition and hydration plan.

Healthy eating therefore comes down to establishing healthy lifestyle habits and being organised! This includes scheduling grocery shopping and planning your meals for the week.

For athletes, a well-known secret to boosting your immune system and speeding up recovery is eating correctly with the right proportion of carbohydrates, fats and protein within half an hour of finishing a workout.

Super foods are also essential to include in your diet every day. These are foods that are nutrient dense and that will support your immune system and promote recovery.
